Quickstart

Connect a source, ask a governed question, and verify the answer before sharing it.

Quickstart

Reach a verified answer with one approved source.

1. Connect a source

Open Sources, select Connect source, choose the connector, and enter a recognizable name plus its credentials. Test the connection before saving.

Use a read-only account with access only to the objects Answerplane needs. For a local SQLite, JSON, CSV, or Parquet source, provide the server-accessible file configured by your deployment.

2. Index and review

Start indexing from the source detail page. When discovery finishes, open Catalog and confirm:

  • expected objects and fields appear
  • sensitive objects are disabled
  • useful business fields are enabled
  • relationships and scoping fields are correct

Small sources may be enabled automatically. Review them before broader use.

3. Ask a bounded question

Open Chat and ask something concrete, such as:

Count orders by status for the last 30 days and show a bar chart.

Mention a source with @source-name when the organization has similar datasets.

4. Verify the answer

Open the answer's plan or provenance panel. Confirm the selected source, filters, grouping, time range, generated operation, row count, and any assumptions. Correct the prompt or catalog metadata if the plan does not match your intent.

5. Reuse it

Save a useful result to a dashboard, continue refining it in chat, or export it. Publishing and embedding require the relevant organization permissions.

A plausible chart is not proof. Treat plan and provenance review as part of the workflow.
